You don’t want to go through getting them started and having some come out in the beginning and just dealing with unruly hair. You just want long, luxurious locs. Well…that’s what loc extensions are for! Loc extensions are done with pre-made, human hair locs that are crocheted into your natural hair. This process can take up to 4 hours for a lifetime of locs!
Over time, locs can go through a bit of wear and tear and may need some reconstruction. You can unintentionally cause weak spots in the shaft of your locs by pulling out rubber bands instead of cutting them out. Not covering your hair at night can also weaken your locs. Different styles, if done too tight, can cause issues as well. Whenever scratching your scalp NEVER use your nails. ALWAYS use your finger tips. The hair at the base of your locs is not as strong as the hair down the shaft of your locs, using your nails will cause breakage and loose hair at the base of your locs.
All of these issues can be fixed with a loc reconstruction. By using kinky human hair and a crochet needle. The crochet needle is fed back and forth into the loc, incorporating the human hair, making the weak spot stronger. For loose hair around the base of the locs, the same method is done without the added hair. This process incorporates your own hair into the locs.
